We are the BRIK Festival, an international festival for children! We originated in 2011 from dance company de Stilte in Breda. de Stilte wanted to share the most beautiful performances it encountered on its international tours with the young and older audience in its home city. What's better than letting children and adults travel all over the world in a week, without even having to leave Breda?
The BRIK programming consists of quality performances that match our basic festival principles: to stimulate children's imagination and leave room for their own interpretation. Almost always without words. Because the body can also tell stories very well. This makes BRIK a language no problem festival. language no problem festival. In juni 2023 vond de 7e editie plaats in een mini-vorm.
Small-scale and cozy in 2023
Dit jaar zag je van vrijdag 23 tot en met zondag 25 juni vijf verschillende voorstellingen van gezelschappen uit binnen- en buitenland in het theater van dansgezelschap de Stilte, het Chassé Theater en de Grote Kerk. BRIK 2023 had een kleinere, knusse opzet. In 2024 is het kinderfestival weer terug in Breda.
